PMS 2010
12th International Workshop devoted to Project Management and Scheduling
April 26-28, 2010
Tours (Loire Valley) France

PMS is an international workshop series, of the EURO PMS working group, devoted to project management and scheduling. The workshop is held every two years in different locations around Europe.
This workshop brings together researchers and practitioners from different disciplines of Computer Science, Operational Research, Optimization Engineering, Mathematical Programming and Industrial Engineering. Theoretical results and algorithmic developments in the fields of Project Management and Scheduling will be covered, including practice and applications to in real-life situations.

The twelfth meeting (PMS 2010) is organized by the Laboratory of Computer Science and the Polytechnic Engineering School of the University François Rabelais de Tours. It will take place in the old city hall of Tours which is beautiful renovated building from the old centuries.

The workshop will be constituted of technical and selected presentations as well as invited presentations made by deemed researchers working on Project Management and Scheduling. Henceforth, this workshop will be an opportunity not only for publishing research works but also to learn from the invited presentations the last trends on the field.

Workshop venue

The workshop venue is the old town hall of Tours, located in the center of Tours (France), which building dates back to the old centuries. During the conference, participants will feel like kings in a castle. Some pictures of the building are available on the PMS 2010 website.

Tours is historically the center of the Loire valley, the valley of kings and castles. It is well known not only for its castles and old manors but also for being a peaceful valley of beautiful landscapes along the Loire river. The Loire valley is also a very famous region of white and red wines: Chinon, Bourgueil, Vouvray, St Nicolas de Bourgueil, Montlouis,…

Tours is only at 1h of train from Paris and 1h30 of train from the international airport Roissy-Charles de Gaulle. The conference location is only 5mn by walk from the central train station of Tours.

Paper Selection, publication and presentation

Papers submitted for presentation at the conference will be selected on the traditional 4-page format of the PMS workshops. A booklet of proceedings will be edited during the conference.

All papers submitted will be reviewed by the international programme committee. All accepted papers will be included in the PMS 2010 proceedings. A feature issue of the European Journal of Industrial Engineering (EJIE) or any other international journal relevant with PMS topics, will be planned.

We will create a prize for the "best student paper". To participate to this prize, for each paper, one author must be a Ph. D. student. The prize will be given to the student. The PC will have the candidate paper in hand and a strict evaluation process will enable to determine the winner. The papers submitted for the "Best Student paper prize" would be 8-page papers.

Abstract submission

Extended abstracts of not more than 4 single-spaced A4 pages are allowed for submission. Templates and guidelines to authors will be made available on the PMS 2010 website. These 4-page submissions will be reviewed according to standard reviewing process in international conferences. A selection of submissions will be presented during the workshop.

After the workshop venue, the authors will have the opportunity to submit full papers to a feature issue of an international journal, as for the previous editions of the workshop.

Accommodations

Numerous hotels can be found in Tours, but as it is a very touristic place, we advise the participants to book a hotel room as soon as possible. We will offer on the PMS 2010 website a list of different categories of hotels.
